Do I have SP1 or SP2 ?

I know it sounds a silly question but:-

My system is XP/IE6. In IE/Help/About Internet Explorer the first line of the
display reads
6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2_040517-1325 which I assume means I have Sp2 installed.

Yet via Start/Help&SupportCentre/WindowsUpdate/ViewInstallationHistory it shows
that in both September & November I failed to install SP2 and no mention of a
successful installation.

Hence my question.

Start > Run > Winver.exe. That should clear up any confusion.

You want to check the Windows XP version, not the Internet Explorer version.
Right click My Computer and select Properties for the current version
information.

Thanks for the replies. I still have SP1 BTW.
Microsoft were giving away CDs of SP2 if it was the Net install
version that you had problems with.

Cheers,

Cliff
