Have a PC. Well within requirements of many games - they don't work though! It worked origionally - then messed up. Manufacturers corrected the problem - but soon after it happened again:

KEEP ON REFORMATING - still keeps happening!

Strange symptoms: Some games do not work at all - non responsive icons. Some work when installed but as soon as other software is used or PC turned off i get the standard XP error report messages.
ODD - some games do work fine. Half-life for example.
Plus - i've found odd ways around it. In Age of Mythology for example by installing the manual patch before clicking the icon the game works fine!
Also - Older versions of Kazaa and Morpheus work fine but the latest ones don't. Word style apps, Music applications, some art packages and the internet works fine - but certain things like game map editors and high demand graphical programs just crash! Very odd.

This happens whenever I reformat.

Also, when your computer boots up, try setting your BIOS to default
settings. See if that helps any. Chipset drivers are a must and the
nVidia drivers will help a ton. Also, make sure you have cleaned your
system with Ad-Aware, scanned for Viruses, and uninstall any
applications that you know you don't need or no longer use. Finaly,
check and see what applications are running and if any of them are
really killing your computer ;)

My suggestion is to buy a GAME machine (like Nintendo, X-Box or the
like) to play video games on. Use your computer to do computer stuff
like business functions, internet searching, and the like.
