DNS Workstation Query

We have had one workstation recently that is reporting
event id 11050 in System Log - "dns client service could
not contact any dns servers for a repeated number of
attempts".

There are also event ID 11156 - "The system failed to
register pointer (PTR) resource records (RRs) for network
adapter"

The error description then returns the correct details for
the domain suffix and the IP addresses for the DNS server
list.

I doubt very much if DNS was at fault as we would have had
other more serious problems.

What else could have caused this ?? faulty network card ?

Does the ipconfig/all show that everything is pointing to the server-IP? Do
options 003, 006 and 015 exist in DHCP-server, Scope options?
Have you allowed dynamic updates on the General tabs of the Forward and
Reverse lookup zones in DNS-server?
