DNS Server Migration

Hello All,
I currently have a Win2k domain controller that also serves as the DNS
server. I am in the process of building a new Win2003 Server ( domain
Controller) that will also host DNS. The original server will then be shut
down permanently.
My question is this: when setting up DNS should i set it up as a Primary or
Secondary server. Will the new server automatically take on the primary role
when the old server is killed?

Need to also make sure clients point the right IP and only point to AD dns
servers, not internal and external servers. cheers!
