DNS resolution problem

I have a problem with DNS resolution for internet access.
I have 2 PCs on my home network. On the NO-DNS PC I can
ping IP addresses on the internet and the ISP's DNS
server but when I do an NSLOOKUP I don't get anything for
www.cnn.com (example). Everything is fine for the other
PC. When I look at the firewall log, looking for DNS
queries coming from the non-working PC, I don't see
anything. I do see entries in the firewall log for the NO-
DNS PC when it pings internet IPs.

The only thing that I know changed was a WLAN (802.11b)
driver that was installed. Since I did that the bad PC
can no longer get DHCP addresses. I have hardcoded the
IPs and it can now function without name services. I have
uninstalled the driver already with no resolution to the
problem. I don't know what else to try.

Please help.

dns doctor

try going to PC that works

run ipconfig /all in a dos window
note the ip assigned to the dNS

go to pc that doesn't work and repeat ipconfig all.
see if there is same ip for dns.

i never could get dhcp to work per the documentation -
same for dns. only way i got it to work was to define the
info in a manual (static) sense
