dns question?

I have two questions on DNS. I am going to set up a DNS
server, there will probably only be 20 -30 dns requests
on the server every minute (on the average) maybe less.
We have a small company. Most servers are win2000, with
one domain server which is also 2000. We have one 2003
server which is an e-mail server.

1. Should I set it up on the domain server? We are only
going to set up one dns server. Presently, Our domain
server is also and application server so it is working
pretty hard already. I have an smaller server that is
not doing much right now and I would like to install
there if it does not make a difference.

2. Will this be a big drain of processing time?

You can certainly set it up on a win2k server and not run it on a dc. For a
network the size of yours, it should run fine, and just create a standard
primary zone, set the allow dynamics to Yes, and point everybody to it. Dns
normally doesn't take a lot of resources, but if you have concerns about
adding it onto your only dc, running it on a 2k server is fine too.
