Can i reinstall my dns server on my Win2k PDC since my
SRV Records are missing in the forward lookup zone of my
PDC DNS Server.i deleted the forward lookup zone on my PDC
and BDC, Recreatd it. restarted netlogon services.
i think reinstalling my Dns server will solve my problem
but i have my exchange 2000 server in my network. i try
to open the global address list,it is giving me error
global catalog not found,i cannot create any mailbox on my
exchange server.
can the reinstallation of the DNS Service on my PDC and
Bdc
effect the Exchange.
need yur help badly

If your machine and Active Directory configuration and IP properties are
misconfigured, reinstalling DNS will not help. There are a number of reasons
why SRVs will not register, but we will need more information from you to
ascertain why. To better assist you, please post this information below so
we can diagnose why your SRV records are not showing up:

1. Unedited ipconfig /all
2. Name of your AD DNS Domain name
3. Name of the zone in DNS and if updates are allowed.
