Chris

When i try to search by typing a topic in the internet
explorer 6.0 address bar i get an error "cannot find
server or DNS error" i think it has always been this way
since i got my computer this year. I have no other known
problaems and can run other web searches or searches from
the sidebar no porblem. Im running XP home and my internet
service is thru compuserve(AOL). I use dial-up connection.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. E-mail is

Chris,
Several things you might try:
Go to http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm Download and run the REG
file on line 229- Set IE Search to Default

Or, make Google the default search
http://www.google.com/options/defaults.html

Or, this might be a malware problem. Work through the solutions (CWShredder,
Ad-aware, Spybot) at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

Additional information at:
The Parasite Fight http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm
Bugs, Glitches & Stuffups: http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/Darnit.htm

Hope this helps,
Don
