DNS and VPN

Hello,

I have created a Windows 2000 RAS server that is allowing
connection via VPN. When the users connect the RAS server
is using DHCP to forward the IP, DNS, and gateway
information to them. The problem that I have is when the
users try to search for a computer by the computer name it
says that it can't find it. If you do a NSlookup on the
client it is using their workstation's DNS and not he DNS
that was sent to them when they made the VPN connection.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You can configure what DNS server and what DNS suffix to use in the
client's connection properties. It will then use these when connected by
VPN, and use the settings on the LAC when it is not.
