DNS Accepting No New Connection Name

J

Jeffrey

My 2000 Pro installation failed to launch on error "Missing
file ntoskrnl.exe".

Loaded from Windows 2000 CD, used system repair utility.
System repair restored ability to boot, and I did not lose
custom settings (background, icons, etc.).

However, when I attempted to launch dial-up icon, no dice
on "Connection not found" error. So I went to DNS to
attempt to create new (actully recreate old) dial up
connection.

No dice, on "Connection Name Not Valie" error, with
instructions about why. Tried many vriations of names
which should be valid according to the eror message, but
got same error message each time.

Suggestions?

It seems to be a corrupt stack or corruption in your DUN. Did you reinstall
the latest SP and hotifixes after you reinstalled the system?

Also, I'm really curious, how you did this below??
So I went to DNS to
attempt to create new (actully recreate old) dial up
connection.

I think you are better off posting this to the networking newsgroup, since
this group is pretty much for DNS, not necessarily for dialup connections.
