.dll error at system start up

I recently had a problem with my dell computer and had to load a new (fresh)
version of windows. I am running Windows XP Media Center Edition.
Everytime I restart my computer a little error box comes up that says--.dll
could not open. What does this mean, and how do I fix this issue? Thank
youin advance for any help.

Something you have set to start with Windows isn't working. With the
limited amount of information you provided, that's all I can tell you.
Find out what you have starting with Windows so you can narrow down the
cause.

Hi,

My name is Todd and I'm a customer advocate at Dell's headquarters. My
team was designed to work with our customers via blogs and forums. I
saw your post and wanted to see if you had gotten this problem
straightened out or not.

If not, please let me know if you're receiving an error for a specific
dll file and it's name. Also, how did you reinstall Windows on your
system? Most Dell systems have a compressed image of the factory
install on them that you can run. It tends to save time and troubles
with reinstalling Windows.

Let me know if I can be of help. I'll check back and see if you still
need help.

Thanks,

Todd

My computer completely crashed. windows wouldn't even load for me to press
the ctrl+f11 key. After I loaded the disk, I tried to repair--crashed--then
tried to upgrade----crash. So I had to load a whole new OS. I followed all
of the things to do then loaded all of the drivers (which by the way was
told my disk I paid for didn't have the correct drivers and software) this
angered me so I finally called expired warrantee service was charged and
helped by this wonderful person. Who loaded everything and then burned me a
disk. I am still having the .dll box pop-up. It doesn't specify what
program just ".dll could not open" Any suggestions?

Hi,

The CTRL + F11 function works in the BIOS and does not need Windows t
load to work. Buf if you've reinstalled the chances are the partitio
is no longer available for the utility to function. When you restar
the computers use that key sequence when you first see the Dell splas
screen, before Windows begins to load. If it works, great. If not, i
won't hurt anything.

What model system is it and when was it purchased? There is an outsid
chance that I can arrange for System Restore CDs to be sent out to you.
They are, essentially, a factory image on CDs but since the factor
image gets updated so regularly, and the hardware and drivers change s
quickly, that may not work for you.

Have you run the diagnostics on the system to make sure it's not a
issue with the memory or the hard drive failing? I wonder if the .dl
file it's looking for is loaded on a bad sector of the drive.

When they helped you do the reinstall did they have you run a DEBUG o
the drive at all?

Thank you,

Todd
