I know I can't mail merge a distrubution list. How do I transfer names in a
distribution list to access or excel or even a new contact list in outlook

Save it as a text file. Open it in Notepad. Take off the first few lines
that don't contain names and addresses. Save. Import into your preferred
program.

Save the DL as a .txt file. Clean it up in Notepad and then import it into
your choice of program (Excel is fine), where you can use it as the data
source for a Word mail merge.

Save the DL as a text file. Clean it up so that each of the fields is
identified. Import it into a Contacts Folder as a tab delimited file. Use
that folder as the data source for your merge.
