Distribution List - Remove one item, List is gone

J

JohnB

Outlook 2007.
Saw this on a computer today; the user modifies an existing DL, to remove
one address. When you highlight the name/address and click on delete, the
whole DL disappears from the screen and is gone from the address book. I
even tried creating a new DL, adding 2 names, saving the DL, and then
deleted one name... and the whole DL disappears.
Any ideas?

She's gone for the day but, I think that is exactly what happened.
If you hover over the X with the mouse, it says "Delete Item". And we both
thought that meant "delete the address highlighted".

Thanks.

How are you deleting the name? Use Remove, not the X button.

I'm quite sure its what happened - she's not the first person to do it and
I'm sure she won't be the last. Outlook 2010 renames the Delete button to
Delete Group so they've probably had more than a few complaints.

Outlook 2010 renames the Delete button to Delete Group

One more confusion-generating move. "Delete List" would have been a better
choice. Maybe we can influence Microsoft to use "List" instead of "Group" in
the final release.
