Distribution list of Distribution lists

I am using Outlook 2000 with an exchange server (in my office at work)
and we have many distribution lists. Is there a way to have a
distribution list that contains other distribution lists? When we
tried this, it took the first distro list and tried to send an E-mail
to the name of this list (not to all the people contained in that
list!)

If you can't have distribution lists within distribution lists, is
there another way to accomplish the same thing? Can you send an E-mail
to everybody in a particular cagetory or folder or something?

The reason is so when a name changes in one of our lists, we don't have
to change it in 3 or 4 (or more) lists.

P.S. This is all done in my own personal "contacts" folder. If any of
this is possible, I might try later to ask how to put this in a public
mailbox/contact folder.

Yes, DL within DL is definitely supported. You can also send to everyone in a category. See http://www.slipstick.com/contacts/dl.htm#cat
