distribution list - error 552 too many recipients

I have various DLs , the largest one has 67 addresses. Since late July I am
unable to use any of them, i cannot send the same email to DLs containing
more than 20 odd recipients. It worked fine until that day. I made no change
in my settings, it simply ceased working from one day to the next.
The error message i receive is 552 too many recipients. I have found one
explanation for errors involving lists of over 100 recipients, however miy
largest has only 67.
I use Outlook 2002 and Windows XP. I suspect it was an automatic update but
am not sure how to find out. Someone has suggested the number of characters
in the TO header is now limited but where can one set that?

has anyone any suggestions what i can do to continue using those DLs?

thank you, grateful for any hint

It could be your outbound mail server had its configuration changed. In that
case there's not much you can do about it - unless it's an internal server
and you can discuss it with the person managing it.

That's a server-side message. The only thing you can do is complain to your
ISP.
