Distribution list emailed to a customer appears empty to the customer

We are on Outlook 2003 and are trying to email a distribution list to
one of our customers who runs Outlook 2000. When the receipient
receives the distribution list, it is empty. Can anyone tell me if
there is a workaround for this?

Same as always.
To send DL's you insert them as an Outlook Item in a message in RTF format.
