Distorted Images on Floppy

I'm experiencing distortion to my photos on my floppy
disk. When I copy pictures to the floppy on the A: drive
and use a Photo Viewer to view them initially, they seem
ok. After I re-boot my PC and then view my pictures again,
I find one or more pictures distorted.
I tried re-formating the floppy and coping new pictures to
it, I also tried a fresh new floppy and I continuelly have
this problem. I also re-installed Windows XP to no avail.
I never experienced this until I upgraded my Window to XP,
however I don't know if that has anything to do with it at
all. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks for your reply. The problem only happens to
pictures stored on a floppy. The same pictures on my hard
drive are never affected.
