I have Windows XP/Home and WinFax Pro. Is there any way
to utilize the distinctive ring feature offered by the
phone company with my fax program? I cannot find how to
enable or even if WindowsXP can even handle distinctive
rings. If Windows cannot do it...then what do you suggest
I do or buy to get this computer to recognize and answer
a distinctive ring?

Windows XP does not support Distinctive Ring. WinFax Pro isn't a MS
product - suggest you visit Symantec's website for further assistance.

.
you could buy a smart ring box which redirects the
double incoming ring to your computer and have it answer
on the first or second ring.(Radio Shack?)$ cheap!fix

Use fax software that DOES support distinctive ring, even on Windows XP
systems. Have a look at the Fax Machine application on
