Distinctive Ring Feature

In Win98 there was the ability to set a modem to
recognize different ring patterns, this capability went
away in Win2K/WinXP. Does anyone know how this can be
done in WinXP?

I have a second phone number on my line so that I can
receive Faxes. When that number rings, 2 short rings as
opposed to one long/normal ring, I want to be able to
activate my Fax SW. Does anyone know of SW which can be
used to perform this function?

Thanks,
Bob

Can't be done in XP as it does not support distinctive ring. I think
you could do what you want with a CommSwitch, a hardware device.
