Display (Theme) Problems

Pls help. Something has happened to the theme/display/fonts/appearance of
desktop and programs. The last time this happened I went to display and
selected 'Windows Classic' under themes and Appearance. The PC asked if I
really wanted to change my settings, gave me a downward spiraling matter of
seconds to decide and when I said yes all was fine. This problem has happened
again and choosing 'Windows Classic' does NOTHING at all. Programs present
as way too big or way too small. Any ideas? I have Windows XP Professional
Edition SP2 Ver 2002 and an HP Pavilion S70.

what resolution is your monitor set to? In some programs like IE and OE in
the View menu you can select text size have you checked that? Does anyone
else use your pc and perhaps alter settings and not return them to what they
were before?

Thanks for replying. Unfortunately the resolution should be set at ' 800
x600 etc'. It was set like this when my collegue got it, and was set on
'Windows Classic' as well. I can play around with the resolution but it
really messes up the other resident programs such as our client contact
program that we use 24/7. No one else uses her PC but she does allow Outlook
to 'pre-view' her received mail, which to me is dangerous no matter how good
your virus program.
