display settings not being saved

I am using XP Home Edition. My graphics card is a ATI
Radeon 9500 dual head. When I configure the card
parameters and 'APPLY' and 'OK', everything works
correctly until I power off. The next time I power up the
computer, the configuration is lost and I must reconfigure
all over. Can someone give me some advice? What am I
doing wrong?

Are you using ATI drivers and are they the latest ones?
