Hey, I just ordered a new laptop and I am looking at some games for it. I was
looking over the minimum sytem requirements for games such as Battlefield 2
and Flight Simlulator X: Deluxe Edition. I do not know wheter or not my
graphics card is good enough. I have ATi Radeon Xpress1270 256MB Hypermemory.
For Flight Simulator X it says that I need ATI Radeon 9500 Series or better.
Will mine work for that?

Yes, Radeon 9500 is like a 2 year old card, the x series came out after the
9000 series, so you're fine, but keep in mind notebook graphic cards mean
low power, meaning not as much punch as a desktop card.

FSX and BF2 should run, but don't expect to turn the graphics up to full.

Youre not going to get much enjoyment out of that game as the low to medium
settings is all you will get for that integrated video card solution. I run
an Inspiron 1501 with a ATI 1150 Express Chipset and the demo performed very
poorly. I do not know if things have improved though in the full version with
an updated patch from Microsoft that could improve the overall performance of
the game on low end systems. Definently download the demo first and see how
it runs on those settings.

I don't think FSX will run that badly, and BF2 doesn't run that poorly at
lower settings. I have a low end system at home with a x800 and BF2 does run
on it. Good idea though, download the demo to try the game before buying it.

You might also try running a benchmark on your system. 3DMark05 can be
downloaded for free version from http://futuremark.com/download/3dmark05/,
run it and compare the number you get to other systems online. Should give
you a little idea what your system is capible of.
