Display settings change on restart

HOW CAN I SET THE DISPLAY SO IT DOESN'T CHANGE ON STARTUP?

I set the display resolution, click apply, click ok and the display is
beautifull until I
restart where the display reverts to the factory vista default.

I think the problem is caused by the message that follows. What can I do now?

***********actual message**********
C:\Windows\system32>if exist c:\acersw\config\ChkScrResolution.exe start
/wait c
:\acersw\config\ChkScrResolution.exe

I would name that file something else, and see what happened. You will need
a boot disk to access the Recovery Options, to use the Command Prompt to do
(and if needed, undo) that rename of
c:\acersw\config\ChkScrResolution.exe
