display properties

Hey All.

I'm having a little dilemma with my xp display. I go into
the properties and "settings" tab, and when i go to choose
my color "scheme", my only two options are '16 bit' and '32
bit', where's my 256 color mode?
Any help appreciated!
 
On the settings tab press the advanced button. At the
bottom of general tab is a note for the 256 colors.
