display properties

On my computor i need to use different display properties for each user, on
one account i need 1024 x 768 at 16 bit colour. on another account i need
1280 x 1024 with 32 bit colour. Now i can change the resolution and colour
but this is after the desktop is displayed and this upsets my icons used on
the desktop. Is there anyway that this change of display settings can be done
before the desktop is displayed.
Many thanks for any usefull information.. jim.

you can also try
http://people.evilrealms.net/~esteban/misc/icon_restore.exe

Description: After installing Icon Restore, simply place your icons wherever
you want them on your desktop, right click My Computer and left click on
"Save Desktop Icon Layout" from the pop up menu. If your icons ever get
moved because your computer entered safe mode or you changed the screen
resolution, right click My Computer and left click on "Restore Desktop Icon
Layout" from the pop up menu. Icon Restore is the perfect solution for
people that have to change the screen resolution often.
