Display names

I want to change the display name in the AD console to
reflect LastName, FirstName. I ran the script from
KB77717, which did change the "display name" but the CN
was not changed. I thought this would change the CN as
well as name displayed in the AD console.

I used the procedure outlined in KB250455 to change the
default for new accounts to LastName, FirstName and this
works fine. However, I still need to change the CN and
console display for accounts that existed before AD.
After the upgrade to AD the console displays the user ID
for users. I want to change this to LastName, FirstName.
What is the procedure for this?

I would suggest to you that you take a look at the wonderful little utility
called ADModify.

You are correct in that by using ADSIEdit you will change the first name,
last name to last name, first name for all newly created user account
objects. However, you still have a bunch of existing user account objects.
ADModify is your friend here.

PS. You could also use ldifde to do this but that would be a bit messy.
ADModify is much better for this.
