Display mode

Last night while experimenting with my new computer, i got
the bright idea to change my display mode to a higher
resolution. Now my screen is garbled and nothing is
visible. I can't even see the mouse pointer or icons and
am unable to even shut the computer off. Please help as i
need to get back on my home computer to retrive some
important work.

try going into safe mode and changing it back, then
reboot, see if that helps. What happened is your
resolution settings exceeds that of the monitor's
capabilities.

you can access safe mode by tapping on the F8 function key just before
loading windows screen pops up
