Hi All

We have a few new XP machines in the office, they are the
first we've got in. 2000 had no problems.

On one in particular when you goto start-->documents
afterabout 1 second the display flickers and the menu
closes down.

Likewise sometime if we are browsing a network folder the
display can flicker and the contents of the folder
dissappears so we have to leave the folder and come back
in. This happens whether browsing through an application
or just windows.

Does anyone have a solution? I appreciate any help on the
topic. (hardware are well specked hp compaqs)

Cheers
Gerry.

Gerry,

I am far from an expert, but the flickering you
mentioned, sort of makes me think it might be a glitch
with the display adapter driver. I think I would search
for an updated driver for your graphics card. If none
are available, try uninstalling it and reinstalling it.
To uninstall, go to the Control Panel, click on system,
click on the hardware tab, then click device manager,
find your dispaly adapter in the list and open it, then
click drivers and try updating, if no update is
available, uninstall the driver and reboot, it will find
the graphics card and reinstall itself.

No promises, but it's a thought.

Good luck,

Mark
