A quick guess: this might be a refresh rate problem. Go to control
panel, display, settings, advanced, and see if there are more refresh
rates available, especially an auto mode. Do not force rates your
monitor does not want to do, as this can wreck a monitor. If things get
weird when doing this go back to what you started with quickly.
