Display File and Disk Space in Explorer

Hello,

I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate RTM from Technet Subscriber Downloads.
I have a problem with the Windows Explorer.

My Status Bar is not displaying the size of the selected files everytime and
the status bar or any other bar does not display the total free size on the
volume, I have to go to "Computer" everytime.

Is there any possibility to fix this?

thank you and happy 2007,

Right click on the title bar. You will get a drop down menue. Choose the
parameter you want to display (size, date modeifies, etc..).
As for the overall disc drive free space question, Vista does NOT show it in
Explorer. You have to use the Computer tool.
Happy New Year.

Just making sure: in Windows Explorer, you've hit the ALT key to bring up
the menu bar. You've then gone to the View menu and put a check mark on the
Status Bar option. You don't get a Status Bar at the bottom of the Explorer
window saying what's selected and how much disk space is left on the drive?

Hello Tony,

Yes I know this, but this is no wanted solution, basicly I'm interested in a
behavior of the status bar like in Windows XP

Is there any reason for this behavior?

Maybe it's related to how you get to the folders you're looking at. The
reason I asked for confirmation on your setup earlier is because I see
overall disk free space on the Status Bar in Explorer. Playing around with
it some more, it looks like the free disk space doesn't show up if you're
browsing the "shortcut" folders (i.a., the stuff under <username> or Public)
instead of starting from "Computer." I'd say you don't have to use the
Computer tool to see disk space, but it looks like you do have to at least
browse the "Computer" folder structure in Explorer to see it.

Hey All - I use Win Vista Premium Home 6000 and this is how my Explorer
works. File size/Free disk space is available in the status bar when the
cursor focus is in the "Navigation pane". This is true for both disk drives
and folders. When the cursor focus moves to the "List pane" only file
information is available in the status bar, free disk space is not.
