I go to turn on my PC and the Display doesn't work. It
turns on, and then beeps at me. I've tried using a
different monitor, and it didn't work, so that can't be
the problem. I currently have a Emachine PC with an AMD
1600+ Athlon XP processor, and 128 mb ram (32 mb shared
for video, Which i think was ProSavage Graphics, or
something like that), so i have 96 mb of ram. In the PCI
slots i have a Smartlink Modem. I need help on trying to
get the display working. It turns on, doesn't display
anything, and beeps at me. Please Help Me!!! Thanks!!!

Your video card might be bad or may need to be reseated. If you feel
comfortable, try removing your video card and reseating it into its slot.
Afterwhich, reboot your system and see if you have video.

First, you don't have enough memory to run Windows XP properly. You
need a minimum of 256MB to get the benefits of the new Windows. You can
(in theory) run your computer with less, but in practice you may have
problems.

Second, how many beeps do you get? The number and type of beeps you get
at startup serve to indicate certain events. For instance, a single
short beep indicates that the computer is working properly.

Since he has shared ram for video he doesn't have a card. He has onboard
video.

If your modem got hit with a surge it may disable the entire PC until
its removed. My guess is that you have NOT protected your PC with a
surge protector that includes a modem line protector.
