Display defaults back to higher resolution after startup.

I have a PC that the disply changes to 1024x728 every time the pc starts.
This happens even after I change the display for the user to 800x600. The
changes stick until the next reboot and then it flashes and changes to the
higher resolution. Is there a registry key or something to make sure the last
setting i make sticks? Any help is appreciated.

Create a new usre profile and see if this works from here. If so,
replace the old user profile with the new one: "How to Copy User Data
to a New User Profile" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=811151).
