display area size

My display screen size, 'footprint', has changed to small and I am unable to
get Internet Explorer to open full screen when I launch it. Regardless of
how I resize, maximize/minimize it when it is open, it reverts back to small
size when I relaunch. It is clearly not behaving correctly as it has done
for years. What procedure should I use to try to restore correct operation.
Rebooting does not solve the problem.

If just an issue with IE, open IE, Maximize it, then do FILE->EXIT. Do
not use the "X" in the upper right.

With just a single instance of IE open, drag the sides, top and bottom to
whatever size you want, then click File and Exit. It should now open to the
size you stretched it to. Works for IE, OE and Windows Explorer.

Open Internet Explorer to any web site.
Find a link somewhere on that page.
Right click on the link and select "Open new window" from the menu.
Close the first instance of Internet Explorer.
Move your mouse pointer to the edges of the new window.
When the mouse pointer turns into a double headed arrow, hold down your
mouse
button and drag the sides of the window to the edge of your screen.
Once you've done this for all four sides close Internet Explorer.
The next time you launch IE, the window should open to that same size.

Good luck
