Hi,

I have been a wee bit confused for a while over these different terms, can
anyone explain/confirm to me if they are the same thing or are different
devices i.e. when people talk about graphics cards, are they talking about
display adaptors (the adaptor you attach your monitor to) or about something
else?

Would be grateful if someone could confirm/explain the differences.

thanks in advance...

All the same - all of them take your computer stuff and translate it to a
language your monitor can display. heh

At some point, there might have been a difference in markets or something.

Video Card, Graphics card, Video device, graphics device, display adaptor,
video adaptor...
If said in reference to a computer and the chipset/physical card/hardware
device that allows pictures to be put on a screen of some sort (visually) -
they are all the same.

Of course the 'adaptor' one could also just be a VGA to DVI (or vice-versa)
changer. hah
