I am out of space on my "C" drive, but have 30 gig on "D". How can I
combine, logically, C and D drives? or alternatively, move several
applications from C to D
and still have icons find them?

3rd party utility such as partition magic

or alternatively, move several

uninstall all apps on drive C:
reboot
then reinstall all apps on drive D:
(most installers give you a choice as to where you can install the app)

If they are fairly simple programs, you can move hte whole folder of the
program from the C:\Program Files folder to another folder on D:. You then
have the shortcut point to that folder on D. You may also have to reset any
icon symbol that represents the program, by pointing it back to the new
source also. You can experiment with what you can do. If this works out, I
would hit start/run type CMD, then at the prompt type (no quotes) "chkdsk
/r" and reboot, and let it fix the news entries.
