Disk Management in Windows XP Home Edition not working

I have a problem accessing the Disk Management tool within Windows XP
(Home Edition). When I run DISKMGMT.MSC I get a grey error box
labeled Logical Disk Manager that says:
"No such interface supported"

I have researched this extensively across the web and newgroups to no
avail. When I launch SERVICES.MSC to look at the Logical Disk
Management services, the LOGICAL DISK MANAGER service is STARTED and
set to AUTOMATIC. The LOGICAL DISK MANAGER ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE is
blank and set to MANUAL.

Anyone have any suggestions/ideas?

I have the same OS. I just went to Start/Run/typed "diskmgmt.msc" (less
quote markers) and clicked "OK"/the Disk Management Console opened promptly.
Suggest you try the command from the Command Prompt window at Start/All
Programs/Accessories/Command Prompt. Many times the Run box appears unstable
on my system and will not recognize a valid command; however, it will apply
from a Command Prompt???
