Disk free space has dropped below min threshold?

My computer keeps popping up with the following warning a couple of
times a day. My computer reports 10GB used on a 40GB drive. Any ideas?

"Disk free space has dropped below the minimum threshold. Free up space
on your hard disk drive by:
1. Backing up your data to a tape backup, ZIP or network drive.
2. Delete unused files.

If you are unsure which files are safe to move or delete, contact your
Help Desk or consult your software manuals."

I would at first scan the disk for errors. Also delete Temporary
Internet Files, Temp files and empty the Recycle Bin.

Run Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Cleanup

You should not be seeing that warning if you *have* only 10 GB in use,
but you may have a great deal of files that are hidden. In Folder
Options, View select to show Hidden files, and *not* to hide protected
mode files, and check again

Turns out it was a problem with a Dell Open Manage Client Program. Thanks
for your help though
