This computer, running XP Pro w/ SP1. 2.4 Ghz P4, 256 Mb
RAM. It has a 40 GB hard disk with 34 GB free. I keep
getting a warning message that "Disk space has dropped
below the minimum threshold." In the Event viewer, it is
listed as Event ID 2 with source OMCI. Any suggestions as
to what is causing this? I've tried disabling the
registry key to prevent the message, but evidently that
doesn't work either.

I've got same problem. It's a Dell program installed on all Optiplex desktops to manage client networks. Dell can't or won't help when it gets annoying. Microsoft has nothing in their knowledge database. I tried disabling but it has Jason-like properties. It won't die. Also downloaded a management console for the OMCI to try to modify settings but also to no avail. If you don't need the management application across a network you can uninstall OMCI from the control panel (add/remove programs). I would think it exists on some backup resource disk somewhere if you need it later on. Don't quote me on that though.
