disk drives or lack of them,/ answer to mail from PJ

Sorry, I will try to explain it a bit better... due to my lack of computer
terminology!!!
We used to be able to put a disk in the DVD-Rom drive and it would play ok..
but now the disks for some reason only seem to play in the Hp-DVD-Writer,
and I wondered why this was??? We put the disks in the top drive DVD-Rom,
and nothing happens. Can you explain why this is, or have I done something
wrong??!!
Thanks
Una

Very difficult to tell from what you have posted but if the disks are
readable on other DVD-ROM drives on other computers, I'd suspect the drive
is bad. You don't say what type of disks, are these commercial disks or did
you burn them yourself in which case you may have a software issue or some
type of configuration issue. For example, if these are audio CDs, that you
created, the session may not be closed. All kinds of possibilities but
nowhere near enough information.
