My apologies I forgot that SP1 was on this particular machine.
An alternative is to defrag from the command prompt. Click the Start button
and type 'cmd' in the search box. When the 'cmd.exe' file appears right
click on it and choose 'run as administrator' When the command prompt opens
type defrag C: (or D: whichever drive you want to defrag) and then press
Enter. Jut remember it may takes some time to defragment the drive.
As for SP1 Microsoft are expecting a release of the service pack within the
first quarter of this year, so you may only have two or three months to
wait.
