Disk Defragmenter could not start

Hi

Whenever I run disk defragmenter in XP Pro SP2 I get the error message "Disk
Defragmenter could not start". I've tried installing the file "dfrg.inf" as
suggested in previous posts in the discussion group but nothing works.

Any other suggestions please?

defrag needs 10-20% free

Thanks Larry... BUT... Nope, still doesn't work even after following the tips
in the link. I'm still getting the same error message I'm afraid.

Also Jay always run CHKDSK b4 running DEFRAG- u dont wanna rewite
files to bad sectors.

well..

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q286263/ has list of all errors but I
dont see yours exactly. Think they made a new 1 just 4 u ?

I hope someone else jumps in to help- after 3-5 hrs repost with '2nd
time' or '2x' in subject to get some attention.

Hi Everyone.

Sorry for the delay in replying, had a nice long Easter Break and just got
back to this "work" thing.
