Back up all essential information forms and replace the hard
drive.

....you'll have to replace the hard-disk ! Of course you'll have to refer to
your RECENT BACKP-UP media to replace all those important and irreplaceable
files onto your new hard-disk after reinstalling your OS / Windows platform.
:)

i know dat . but i was think is there a way that the drive never reads
the bad sectors so the my comp does't hang.

e.g making it file or some thing.

You could run CHKDSK /R. But thats only long enough to save your stuff.
When the drive electronics can't map around the bad ones anymore, your
drive is in bad shape, and going downhill fast.

From the original description, the hard drive is falling apart...
right now, and creating the bad sectors. This is different from
having bad sectors that pre-exist on the hard drive and can be
marked out. This is usually done by formatting.

If you have the time, after backing up and storing on different
media such as another [external] HD or DVD-/+R or whatever, all of
the files that are important, do a high-level format of the HD.
Better still, purchase Spinrite from Gibson Research and run it.
But for a hard drive that is physically falling apart, there will
be less than a good chance of it ever working properly. It might
take Spinrite the better part of a day to sort things out on this
HD, if at all. I'd just spend the money on getting a replacement
2.5-inch HD for the Inspiron, instead.
