I just installed an 80gb. Wanted to have a backup drive to
boot off in case of drive failure. Using Seagates "Disk
Wizard" (software came with the new drive) I started a
copy from my original drive to the new one. Half way
through the copy froze and the PC froze as well. Could not
break out of the copy in any way shape or form. So as a
last resort, I powered down. When I powered back up, what
a mess. Even XP Restore to a previous state will not work,
the program fails. I had a system copy on CD which I was
able to use to resore some kind of order but things are
still messed up. Boot is wicked slow, error messages
popping up all over the place. XP thinks the new disk I
installed is the boot disk. Even changing the boot
priority in bios will not work. Would like to get my PC
back to where it was before the disk copy. Any ideas?
