Disk Cleanup

The disk cleanup tool hangs or stops responding while
compressing temporary files. I've done the error
checking which worked and retried the disk cleanup but it
does the same thing. Any advise?

for the disck cleanup , first try running a defragmenting

and a virus scan and if u have norton system works trying
running ur clean up thorough that program

Disk Cleanup freezes during the Compressed File Phase: This edit corrects
the problem:

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
