disk cleanup

tried to run it and it got to three bars and then hung,and won't go any
further.
shut it down and now have to reboot to "try" and run it again,to no avail.

help appreciated.

This is a known issue with XP and some machines. It hangs
at the compress old files part of the scan. www.kellys-
korner-xp.com has a little utility that will fix this. You
will have to search for it I'm not sure what the line
number is. Keep smiling.

Hi,

Disk Cleanup freezes during the Compressed File Phase: This edit corrects
the problem:

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
