disk cleanup

I'm running win XP Home edition. When I try to do a "disk
cleanup" it doesn't do anything...starts, gets about 3
bars across then nothing. It doesn't hang up, just never
finishes. I've let it go for 2 hours or more...same
thing. (I did disable anti virus 1st). Any suggestions??

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Volume
Caches\Compress old files

Right click on Compress old files and select Delete.
