Disk Cleanup

Yesterday when I went to use the cleanup, it seems to
freeze up. I have always used it with no problem. It
seems to never get past the "compress old files" Since
this occured my computer is running VERY slow. I followed
Microsoft workaround to remove the compress old files
registry key which it did, but I still have a very slow
computer. Any suggestions?
