Disk Cleanup LESSEND my space!

This is really bad and stupid, i had 4.8 gigs of space
left on my primary hard drive (C), and 22.5 on my other
one (D).

im surfing th enet and all of a sudden, this thing in my
taskbar pops up saying im runnung low on disk space. i
click it and instantly it starts running some thing for
saving space. it didnt even tell me what it was gonna do
or if i wanted it to go yet (i was busy)

so i jus let it go and a few minutes later it says
something like
"disk cleanup has resolved your low disk space condition,
you now have 160 mb of space left"

HELP! what the heck!? it also lowered my D drive to 12 mb!
what did it do?

at first i couldnt open system restore because it said i
needed 200 mb to run it. so i moved some stuff to my D
drive and when it opend, ALL MY RESTORE POINTS WERE GONE.
i cant use system restore!

HELP!!!!!! ITS LIKE A TRAP!!

I have only one recommendation. Remove your partition
for the "D" drive and add a second (slave) 40gig
harddrive as "D" drive. With current applications and
the Internet, it looks like you need it bad.
