Disk Cleanup hangs

For the past couple of weeks, Disk Cleanup hangs every
time I run it. I've left it for hours at a time with no
progress. When I cancel it, I have to then go to the Task
Manager to end the process or it continues (indefinitely)
to take up 95-99% of my processor activity. I've
installed all the WXP updates and defragged on the off
chance that it might help, but it hasn't. How do I move
off of high center and get my Disk Cleanup back?

Try the following web sites for troubleshooting suggestions:

Visit http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scroll
down to Line #48. In the right-hand window, click on
"Disk Cleanup - Compress Old Files Freezes"

Simply click on Kelly's fix, download the registry fix, then run it.
(Note: Disable your antivirus program before running the repair script)
