disk clean not working

It seems I'm not the only one who suddenly had Disk Clean
to stop working for no apparent reason. I make no
significant changes to my computer on a regular basis
and,I haven't installed anything lately. It has worked
perfectly until a week ago. Now, when I start it, it
doesn't do anything except pop up it's task bar window.
It shows up on Task Manager list of processes and, max's
out the CPU usage (%) But, thats it.
In addition, my Macafee Quickclean stopped working at the
same time as the other. Each time I click on something
that starts it's smartlinks update - it starts the
process, then freezes up. An error message appears
stating that it has encounter a problem and needs to shut
down. I have uninstalled Quikclean and reinstalled it.
This did not fix the problem.

Save on Desktop.
Double click the icon once downloaded.
The icon can then be discarded.
